Aggressive behaviors in children with ASD are a frequent source of parental concern (Mazurek, Kanne, & Wodka, 2013) and are known to increase family stress, financial strain, and demands on caregivers (Hodgetts, Nicholas, & Zwaigenbaum, 2013; Lecavalier, Leone, & Wiltz, 2006).
What happens if a behavior occurs?
A functional behavior assessment (FBA) can help figure out the cause of problem behaviors. A behavior intervention plan (BIP) is a plan that's based on the FBA. A BIP can help to replace problem behaviors with more positive ones.
